It is still unconcluded on whether Jinja or Fort portal is Uganda’s tourism capital. But one thing has been concluded, Jinja is Uganda’s adrenaline capital offering adrenaline activities including but not limited to; Kayaking, white water rafting, canoeing, swimming in the Nile, among several other adrenaline activities.

What far is Jinja from Kampala?

Jinja is located 80kilometers from Kampala. Though the traffic might be thick on certain days, it is where the motorcycle adventures come in handy. It might take you between 2hours and 21/2 hours.

We often recommend a stop at Ssezibwa falls just half the journey. When you speak of environments that are still intact, then Ssezibwa falls ranks among the top list of such destinations in Uganda.

Other Destinations should you consider to or from Jinja?

There are mainly two destinations to consider on your way to Jinja, Ssezibwa falls just a few kilometers to Lugazi town and Mabira forest. The forest offers a number of activities including but not limited to; Zip lining, forest walks, mountain biking, community tours, camping, among several other activities.

After Jinja town, you can drive to Sipi falls the leading hiking destination in Uganda. You will be gifted with community encounters in this area as well as breath-taking views of the iconic Sipi falls.

What Should You have in mind when driving to Jinja?

The Road is the main exit route to Kenya; it has very many trailers more so on Fridays heading to Kenya and very many trailers coming back on Monday.

White Water Rafting

The Nile is the main signature of Jinja town, and along the Nile, you are offered an opportunity to encounter your fears. You do not have to know how to swim; all you need is a water jacket to keep you on top of the water after the final crash. You are offered a collection of photos that are taken through the course of the rafting.

Quad Bikes

In Jinja, you will have the opportunity to switch from a two wheels bike to a four wheels quad bike. Quad around the shores of the Nile offers great sights of the Nile.

Swimming in the Nile

The Nile River is one of the few locations in Uganda where you have an opportunity to swim without any fear of water infections.
